The reason for the municipality of Weisenbach to conduct the competition is the need for expansion and the changed requirements for the existing primary school at Jahnstraße 2 (parcel no. 2098), together with a need for renovation of the existing building. The need for expansion can be derived, on the one hand, from a general shortage of teaching space and the changed pedagogical approaches, which now require additional differentiation rooms in addition to the actual classrooms. Furthermore, new areas are needed for the all-day area including a canteen. In order to achieve the best possible architectural, functional and economic solution for the development of the school site, the municipal council has decided to carry out a realization competition. Funding for the project is planned within the framework of school construction funding. The competition entries must therefore be prepared in such a way that the applicable school construction funding guidelines are taken into account and observed. The "Principles of Sustainable Building" published by the Ministry of the Environment on 29.08.2014 must be duly considered.
