Description

The municipality of Losheim am See (hereinafter: "Granting Authority") aims to provide comprehensive, high-performance access to gigabit networks. Furthermore, the Granting Authority aims to strengthen its economic location and ensure the competitiveness of its companies. Therefore, a concession contract is to be concluded with a telecommunications company for the construction and operation of gigabit networks as well as the provision of end-user services in the areas specified in more detail below. The Granting Authority has submitted an application for funding under the Federal Government's funding programme "Promotion of the Gigabit Expansion of Telecommunications Networks in the Federal Republic of Germany - Gigabit Guideline 2.0" and has been provisionally granted funding. The Granting Authority has also applied for co-financing of the federal funding under the "Guideline on the Co-financing of the Federal Gigabit Promotion in Saarland ("Gigabit Co-financing Guideline Saarland")" and has been provisionally granted. The funding is to be provided through an investment grant in the amount of the so-called economic viability gap, i.e. in the amount of the difference between the net present value of all revenues and the net present value of the costs for network construction and operation.
