With the new network decision, the cantonal road in the Kandertal from Spiez to Kandersteg was incorporated into the national road network as of 01 January 2020. Since certain bridge structures show significant damage, the most endangered structures will be renovated or replaced as individual measures within the next approximately 6 years. This includes the renovation of bridges K01, K30, K32 and K33 as well as the replacement of bridges K13 and K25. The present procurement includes the scope of services for the project author environmental construction supervision (PV UBB) in the implementation phase (SIA phases 41 to 53). In this phase, the PV UBB ensures the legally compliant implementation of the construction project with regard to relevant environmental laws, ordinances, guidelines and directives, as well as the proper implementation of environmental measures. The commissioned experts will perform the following tasks:

- Planning / Tendering: The PV UBB advises planners and the client during the preparation of the execution project and the tendering process. It checks the detailed planning of protective, restoration and compensatory measures.

- Consultation / Coordination: The PV UBB is available to the construction management during the construction phase to answer environmental questions and, if necessary, participates in construction meetings.

- Instruction / Control: At the beginning of the construction work, the PV UBB supports the construction management in instructing the construction company and its workers. Throughout the construction phase, it conducts site inspections and checks that the construction company complies with environmental legislation, properly and completely implements protective, restoration and compensatory measures, and adheres to the measures according to the VAK List Environment (enforcement and compliance control).

- Documentation: The PV UBB maintains ongoing documentation of the site inspections in the form of a construction journal. It is also responsible for creating and maintaining the VAK List Environment. After completion of construction, the PV UBB prepares a detailed UBB final report.
