**West I – District Heating Pipeline Construction Section 3.1.2: Pipe Material & Insulation Supply & Construction Services**

**Description:** The contracting authority (AG) operates a heating plant at Frankfurter Straße 100 in Darmstadt. The heat is primarily generated by the nearby waste-to-energy plant (hereinafter “MHKW”), supplied to the heating plant, and then distributed from there. Due to a current renovation in the MHWK, more heat can be utilized in the future. To utilize this potential, new district heating pipelines will be constructed between the heating plant, the MHWK, and further supply areas. The overall project will be divided, for commercial, organizational, and operational reasons, into a northern construction section (Section 3.1) and a southern construction section (Section 3.2). The excavation and pipeline construction works in the northern construction section and in the southern construction section will be tendered separately. The deliveries and associated services for the plastic-coated pipe laying system (KMR) will be tendered together for both construction sections. The contractor (AN) will be commissioned with the supply of the pipe system and the socket insulation for underground district heating pipelines. The subject of the contract are:

- the supply of plastic-coated pipe and system components;

- the assembly of the pipe system components; this primarily includes the assembly of the sockets, the installation of expansion joints according to static requirements, and the assembly of the pipe monitoring accessories;

- the preparation of the associated pipe static calculations and the laying and loop planning.

The KMR system requirement is to be supplied for:

- a supply line DN350/DA560 from the heating plant at Frankfurter Straße 100 via Sensfelder Weg to Pallaswiesenstraße,

- a supply line DN450/DA710 between the MHWK at Otto-Röhm-Straße 1 (connection Sensfelder Weg) and the AG's property at Frankfurter Straße 100,

- a supply line DN350/DA560 from Pallaswiesenstraße via Kasinostraße to the intersection area Landwehrstraße.

The AN must provide proof of a valid and suitable certification according to AGFW Arbeitsblatt FW 605 for the implementation of the measure. Only socket welders certified according to FW 603 or DVS 2212-4 are permitted to carry out the assembly services.

**Optional Services**

The AG and three potential connecting parties (Fa. HBK, Fa. Alitus and Fa. Schenck) are currently in discussions about the creation of a house connection and the subsequent heat supply. Depending on a successful contractual agreement between the AG and the respective interested party, the AG has the optional possibility to commission the AN with services of the following requirement titles:

**Requirement Title Fa. HBK – Supply Line DN125/DA250 and Network Connection DN100/DA250:** The supply line begins at Sensfelder Weg, at the street intersection to Pfarrwiesenweg, to Otto-Röhm-Str. at house number 36 to the location of Fa. HBK. Fa. HBK would be connected there to a transfer station, which is created behind the building at Otto-Röhm-Str. 36. This optional service can be found in the specification Title 20 “KMR – Requirement Title”.

**Requirement Title VL Landwehrstraße – Supply Line DN200/DA355:** The supply line DN200/DA355 connects to the BA South and ends in Landwehrstr. west of the exit to the operating site of the companies Schenck/Alitus (house number 52). This optional service can be found in the specification Title 40 “KMR – Requirement Title VL Landwehrstr.”

**Requirement Title VL Schenck/Alitus – Supply Line DN150/DA315:** The supply line DN150/DA315 connects to the "Requirement Title VL Landwehrstr." and ends before the exit of the network connection DN80/DA200 to Alitus. This optional service can be found in the specification Title 50 “KMR – Requirement Title VL Schenck/Alitus.”

**Requirement Title NA Alitus – House Connection DN80/DA200:** The network connection DN80/DA200 connects to the "Requirement Title VL Schenck/Alitus" and ends in the network connection room of Alitus with main shut-off valves and blind flanges. This optional service can be found in the specification Title 60 “KMR – Requirement Title NA Alitus”.

**Requirement Title NA Schenck – House Connection DN150/DA315:** The network connection DN150/DA315 connects to the "Requirement Title VL Schenck/Alitus" and ends in the network connection room of Alitus with main shut-off valves and blind flanges. This optional service can be found in the specification Title 70 “KMR – Requirement Title NA Schenck”.

The AG is entitled to call upon or commission the AN with the aforementioned optional services by 10.02.2027. The call or commission can be made for individual or multiple requirement titles or in total. Written form is a mandatory prerequisite for the call or commission of the optional services. The AN is obligated to carry out the commissioned services. The provision of the called or commissioned optional services will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of this contract. The AN has no legal claim to a contract extension, i.e. the AG can, at its discretion, refrain from calling or commissioning the optional services for any reason.
