Description

The municipality of Beckingen (hereinafter: "Granting Authority") aims to provide comprehensive, high-performance access to Gigabit networks. Furthermore, the Granting Authority aims to strengthen its business location and ensure the competitiveness of its companies. Therefore, a concession contract for the construction and operation of Gigabit networks as well as the provision of end-customer services in the areas specified below is to be concluded with a telecommunications company. The Granting Authority has submitted an application for funding within the framework of the federal funding programme "Promotion of the expansion of telecommunications networks to Gigabit in the Federal Republic of Germany - Gigabit Guideline 2.0" and has been provisionally granted funding. The Granting Authority has also applied for co-financing for the federal funding in accordance with the "Guideline on the co-financing of the federal Gigabit funding in Saarland" ("Saarland Gigabit Co-financing Guideline") and has been provisionally granted it. The funding is to be provided through an investment grant in the amount of the so-called economic viability gap, i.e. in the amount of the difference between the net present value of all revenues and the net present value of the costs for the network construction and operation.
