Description

Within the framework of the ResNRJwater project (INTERREG North-West Europe 2021-2027, https://resnrjwater.nweurope.eu/), a scientific feasibility study is to be conducted to determine to what extent two municipal wastewater treatment plants can be developed as integrated energy hubs. The aim is to develop a transferable model for electricity, heat, and contracts that takes into account the respective technical and infrastructural conditions, is economically viable, and meets ecological requirements. The focus is particularly on: the assessment and optimisation of existing and potential energy infrastructure, the analysis of storage and distribution possibilities, the conception of resilient operating strategies, the conception of process engineering procedures in the field of wastewater and sludge treatment, and the development of suitable contract models for the integration of external actors and for legally secure implementation in the municipal context.
