Germany – Public transport services by railways – S-Bahn Nürnberg 2031+

Public service contract in the field of rail passenger transport in accordance with Article 5(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007. Operation of an S-Bahn service of approximately 8.3 million train-kilometres per year (of which approximately 0.1 million train-kilometres per year in Baden-Württemberg) on the following lines:

S1: Bamberg – Hartmannshof

S2: Roth – Altdorf

S3: Nürnberg Hbf – Neumarkt (Opf.)

S4: Nürnberg Hbf – Crailsheim

S5: Nürnberg Hbf – Allersberg

S6: Nürnberg Hbf – Neustadt (Aisch)

Service commencement is scheduled for the timetable change in December 2030 (15.12.2030). The term of the Traffic Performance Contract (VDV) is 14 years. Bids with both new and used vehicles are permitted. The Traffic Performance Contract will be structured as a net contract with at least a two-year gross start-up phase on the Bavarian side, and as a gross contract on the Baden-Württemberg side. The Traffic Performance Contract contains detailed specifications for the quality of the services to be provided. Used vehicles from the year of construction 2010 and new vehicles are permitted for the provision of transport services. From the current contract, 27 vehicles of the type Coradia Continental will be provided to the future operator via the existing capital service guarantee. The transport services will be awarded within the framework of a competitive tendering procedure in accordance with the provisions of Part 4 of the Act against Restraints of Competition (GWB) and the Regulation on the Award of Public Contracts (VgV).
