Description

The Federal Ministry for Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) intends to commission a research project on the "Analysis of Wealth Distribution in Germany". As part of this research project, the analysis of wealth distribution and its development over time, as carried out in the 6th Poverty and Wealth Report, is to be continued. The current trends in the distribution of private households' and individuals' assets and their causes are to be presented on the basis of the Income and Expenditure Survey (EVS) of the years 2008, 2013, 2018 and – as soon as available – 2023, the wealth accounts of the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) of the years 2007, 2012, 2017 and – as soon as available – 2019 and 2024, as well as the Bundesbank's Study on Private Households and their Finances (PHF). The analysis is to include evaluations and comparison with other data sources, in particular the National Accounts and the statistics of the Bundesbank. The statistical underreporting of high net worth individuals and its consequences for the analysis of wealth distribution is also to be taken into account. Furthermore, the influence of wealth transfers on the distribution result is to be examined. Please note the attached tender documents.
