Germany – Construction work for waterways – Schleuse Kiel - Kampfmittelräumung Vorhäfen und Böschungen LOS 2

As a preparatory measure for the replacement new construction of the Kleine Schleuse in Kiel, an unlimited-depth clearance of unexploded ordnance (UXO) is to be established in the approach harbours of the so-called "Kleine Schleuse", both seaward and landward. The areas have been divided into 5 clearance zones. The clearance zones from Lot 1 (landward) and the clearance zones from Lot 2 (seaward) are separated from each other by the Kleine Schleuse. They are mostly water areas, but also slopes above and below the waterline and to a small extent land areas. The water depths of the water-side clearance zones range between 0 and 11 m.
