The Hereon currently uses SAP ERP 6.0 EHP8 HCM for personnel administration and accounting. To support personnel management processes, the components of Personnel Administration, Personnel Time Management, Personnel Accounting, Personnel Cost Planning, and Obligo Administration are used. In addition, the Hereon uses SAP Process & Forms, various workflows, and Employee Self-Service (ESS) and Manager Self-Service (MSS) based on the SAP Portal to accelerate administrative processes. The SAP Portal with the Self-Services and the electronic procurement system are integrated into the Hereon Intranet. The system landscape consists of a central system with all modules in a 2 system architecture. Since October 2025, SuccessFactors with the Recruiting module has been in productive use. An external service provider has been commissioned for the maintenance and support of SF Recruiting. Currently, a conversion of the SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.5 for Employee and Manager Self-Services to an SAP FIORI Portal is being planned and must be taken into account in the later scope of maintenance or consultant portfolio of the service (continuously from 2028 onwards). Furthermore, a tender for the "Introduction of Travel Management at Hereon" to replace Notes is also in progress. This continuous maintenance from 2027 (if an SAP module is introduced) is also to be considered in the service scope or consultant portfolio, as is the prospective integration into SAP S/4HANA (continuously from 2027 onwards).
