Germany – Insurance brokerage and agency services – Versicherungsmakler NordOstLink & MultiHUB

As part of the onshore grid expansion, the contracting authority intends to award insurance brokerage services for the TenneT projects/sections of the NordOstLink and MultiHUBs. Project information: The German federal government has set ambitious goals: renewable energies are to cover up to 80% of Germany's electricity demand by 2030. Offshore wind power plays a particularly important role in this – by 2045, the installed capacity of offshore wind farms in the North Sea is to be expanded from the current approximately 9 gigawatts to 70 gigawatts. In Schleswig-Holstein, more renewable energy is already being generated at sea and on land than can be consumed. The more wind turbines turn daily along the coast, the more energy must be transported via the power grids. The NordOstLink will bring wind energy from the west coast directly to the region in the future and make it usable where it is generated. The NordOstLink is a high-voltage direct current transmission line that connects the HeideHub in the district of Dithmarschen to the network interconnection point Mühlenbeck near Schwerin over approximately 200 km. The project consists of several DC connections: the onshore lines DC31 and DC32 and up to five offshore lines (LanWin6, LanWin7, NOR-x-3, NOR-x-6, NOR-x-9) in sections, which bring power from the offshore wind farms to land. All lines are bundled in a main section – depending on the section with two to six parallel DC connections. In accordance with legal requirements, the line is planned as a 525-kilovolt underground cable. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2028. Commissioning is expected to take place in 2032. The two transmission system operators TenneT Germany and 50Hertz are jointly implementing the project in five planning sections. TenneT Germany is responsible for sections SH1, SH2 and SH3. 50Hertz is responsible for sections SHMV4 and MV5 (not in the scope of this tender). To ensure that the power transported by the NordOstLink can be used flexibly, TenneT Germany is also building two of the first Multi-terminal Hubs along the NordOstLink: the HeideHub and the NordHub. The scope of this tender also includes the Multi-terminal Hub NordWestHub. These unique power hubs in Europe connect the offshore grid connection systems at sea with the large DC connections on land. At the same time, they ensure that the power – by converting it into alternating current – can be used directly on site and fed into the regional distribution grid. For more information on the NordOstLink: NordOstLink | TenneT For more information on MultiHUBs: Multiterminal-Hubs Insurance brokerage services: The mentioned projects "NordOstLink" & "MultiHUBs" require a contractual coverage of all risks in the project phase via so-called Construction All Risk (CAR) insurances. At the same time, it must be ensured that any damage that may have occurred during the entire construction phase up to commissioning can be efficiently and reliably settled with the involved insurers. Insurance brokerage services are therefore required for determining an optimal insurance coverage, preparing & conducting EU tenders including market approach of the relevant insurance market as well as damage prevention, damage management and damage settlement over the entire project duration. To protect the confidentiality of the contracting authority's information in the tender documents, a confidentiality agreement must be concluded. Bidders are permitted to submit signed confidentiality agreements to the contracting authority at any time during the application process. The contracting authority will grant the bidder access to the tender documents after a plausibility check has been carried out. The bidder may not infer from this that the contracting authority certifies the bidder's suitability for further participation in the tendering procedure. The contracting authority will send separate invitations to submit offers to the bidders admitted to the tendering procedure after the application deadline has expired.
