Netherlands – Stairlifts – Trapliften gemeenten Alkmaar en Dijk en Waard

The municipalities of Alkmaar and Dijk en Waard are, under the Social Support Act 2015 (Wmo 2015), responsible for providing suitable support to residents who cannot independently realise a safe and accessible living environment. If a resident, due to limitations, can no longer use stairs, a stairlift may be necessary to keep the home accessible and habitable. In such a case, the municipality has the obligation to provide a customised solution, i.e. a stairlift, that ensures this self-reliance.
