Germany – Construction project management services – Projektsteuerung Ersatzneubau Straßenbrücken Bauwerke 11 und 12 - Lange Brücke

The state capital Potsdam plans the replacement new construction of the road bridge complex "Lange Brücke" - consisting of 4 partial structures - over the Havel arms "Alte Fahrt" and "Neue Fahrt" in Potsdam. The Lange Brücke is part of the inner-city road network of the state capital Potsdam and carries the federal roads B1 and B2 over the Havel. Currently, approximately 40,000 vehicles/24h travel over the road bridge complex on average per year. The entire bridge complex "Lange Brücke" holds a special position among the two Havel crossings in Potsdam, as it represents the direct connection between the city centre and Potsdam Hauptbahnhof and, in addition to road traffic, also carries pedestrian and cycle traffic as well as tram traffic. For this entire construction project - starting with project planning, continuing through construction execution and handling up to project completion - the contracting authority intends to award the project management/project control services to an external project controller. A prerequisite for the replacement new construction is the dismantling of the existing four partial structures. Due to the structural and traffic-logistical complexity of the entire construction project, it is planned to commission the dismantling as a separate service with associated planning and execution. Directly adjacent to the aforementioned bridge structures to the east are bridge structures for the tram and pedestrian and cycle traffic. The two tram bridges (BW 11.3 and 12.3) were completed in 2009. They are not the subject of the replacement construction measure. Due to the immediate proximity to the road bridges to be renewed, the tram structures must be taken into account in the construction process and in construction process management. The aim of the contracting authority is to largely maintain traffic during the construction period on the existing or newly constructed partial structures of the bridge complex. One of the possible production technologies for the replacement new construction also includes the delivery of individual bridge components via the waterway (Havel).
