The Waterways New Construction Office North Sea Canal will, as part of the ongoing construction project "Replacement New Construction of the Levensau High Bridge", replace the existing Old Levensau High Bridge with a new bridge in 2027. As a result of this measure, the roads and railways carried over, as well as the footpath and cycle path, will temporarily not be available. Since there is no other option for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the NOK at this point, a free bus service for users, with the possibility of transporting bicycles, must be established in accordance with the Plan Approval Decision of 22.11.2017. The bus line must run with various stops from Neuwittenbek to Kiel Rungholtplatz.
