The site of the former Tegel Airport will become, in the coming years, a research and industrial park for urban technologies: Berlin TXL Urban Tech Republic, and a new residential quarter: the Schumacher Quarter. The Land of Berlin has commissioned Berlin TXL Management GmbH with the development and management of the Urban Tech Republic and the Schumacher Quarter. The tender is for the design of open spaces in LPh 6-9 for the quarter park in the centre of the Schumacher Quarter. The concept for the planned quarter park essentially involves incorporating the local landscape of the Tegeler Heide and making it part of the new park.
