Description

The botanika is part of the Wissenswelten Bremens and focuses on the interplay of plants, animals and cultures of Asia and the tropics. The permanent exhibition consists of authentic landscapes under glass and an interactive discovery centre. The discovery centre explores the diversity of plants from different perspectives in six thematic areas. Guests can independently explore the knowledge through various access points: digital stations, film and audio sequences, image and text panels, hands-on exhibits, live plants, or thematically appropriate terrariums and aquariums. The project's aim is to re-attract visitors to the botanika's discovery centre by first revamping or developing at least four highlight exhibits. The medium-term plan is to modernise the entire discovery centre. To enable the sustainable use of the new exhibits, the project will also develop a future concept for the discovery centre, in which the new highlight exhibits will find their place. The exhibits should offer new attractions for visitors in the well-known exhibition and must fit into the existing exhibition. The design and scenography should be unique, with subtle methods of knowledge transfer. The joy of use should be the main focus. The exhibits should be made from as sustainable materials as possible. Since the botanika is accessible to everyone, barrier-free design must be considered and refined in the creation of the exhibits and the concept. Feedback from experts in the field of barrier-free accessibility should ensure the effectiveness of the measures.
