Sweden – Refuse disposal and treatment – Behandling av källsorterat matavfall SuToHaMu

The contract concerns the final handling of source-separated food waste through reception and treatment in a biogas plant. The assignment includes storage, pre-treatment, composting, and disposal of the products biogas and digestate. Transport of loaded food waste in containers from Holmby ÅVC, Sunne and Holkesmossens ÅVC, Hagfors to the composting plant is not included in this contract. The contracting authority is responsible for the collection of source-separated food waste that falls under the category of municipal waste. The current procurement concerns food waste collected from private households, restaurants, catering, central kitchens, grocery stores, and staff canteens in the municipalities of Hagfors, Munkfors, Sunne and Torsby. Commercial actors such as grocery stores etc. may, in exceptional cases, apply for/obtain an exemption from the general rule that the municipality collects and is responsible for the waste. Such commercial actors may join or leave during the contract period.
