Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services GmbH (GUD) based in Hannover, a subsidiary of N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie, operates a 4,600-kilometer-long gas pipeline network in Northern Germany. Due to its geographical location, the overall > 17,000 km pipeline network of Gasunie in the Netherlands and Germany serves as a gas hub for Northwest Europe, making a significant contribution to secure energy supply in Germany and Europe. The "Hyperlink Project" of GUD - which includes the energy transport line "ETL186" from Peine to Hallendorf in Lower Saxony, tendered here - is a crucial component in the construction of the hydrogen core network in Germany, approved by the Federal Network Agency. Hyperlink is a 1,000-kilometer-long hydrogen network, the completion and operation of which is the direct responsibility of GUD. By connecting Germany with hydrogen supplies in the Netherlands and Denmark, it links markets and provides GUD's transport customers with reliable access to climate-neutral energies. Thus, GUD makes a substantial contribution to securing Germany's industrial location. Due to its importance, ETL186 is a project funded under IPCEI (Important Project of Common European Interest). The AG tenders the following service as the project promoter and pipeline operator: General contractor construction services for the construction of the energy transport line ETL 186 from Peine to Hallendorf, including station buildings. The project includes the construction of the energy transport line, including associated civil engineering, pipeline, and crossing works for the transport of gas, particularly hydrogen, consisting of the following plant components: Underground laid pipeline in the dimensioning DN 800, including pipeline sections constructed in closed construction using boreholes; a shut-off station in the middle of the route to maintain the required line segmentation of 10-18 km; facilities for integration into existing facilities at the beginning and end of the line at the connection point ETL 186 in Woltorf and at a transfer station in Watenstedt (Salzgitter/Hallendorf); system for cathodic corrosion protection of the pipeline; underground laid accompanying cable for the purpose of data exchange and plant control; underground installed fittings and above-ground erected marking posts for the protection of the pipeline; Nominal pressure: MOP PN 84; the pipeline material (pipes made of high-strength steel) will be provided by the AG and installed by the contractor (AN) - the AN is responsible for the proper storage of the provided material on the 4 pipeline storage sites to be constructed by him, each with an area of approximately 11,400-19,000 m², as well as the transport of the material to the installation site; Width of the regular working strip: 37m with local widenings in the case of larger construction efforts and special structures; Safety strip: 10m (5m on both sides of the pipeline axis); Laying depth: Minimum cover 1.2 m; min. 1.5 m at crossings with roads, waterways, third-party lines; min. 2.0 m at crossings with railway lines; approx. x field bends and approx. 60 factory bends are required in total; Project-specific peculiarities: the station Woltorf will already be constructed at the beginning of the works for ETL186 as part of another project of GUD, so that the station facilities for ETL186 will have to be constructed under brownfield conditions; the Mittelland Canal is to be crossed under the canal sole with a flush bore (HDD), if necessary with the Direct Pipe® procedure to achieve the necessary depth; the bundling with other high-pressure lines in the inventory and the railway line requires the storage of the pipe trench excavation in the protection strip of the existing line. Additional measures to secure the existing lines must be provided at all times. The forest priority area along the railway line 1730 requires its passage in two sections, each 400 m long, in a minimized working strip (18 m), which requires the processing and remote storage of the pipe trench excavation; four railway lines, three of which are double-tracked, or two electrified, are to be crossed. All four routes are operated by Deutsche Bahn, one track by Salzgitter Flachstahl AG. The crossings of the double-tracked routes 60 to 80 m; the federal road B1 and canal road must be crossed by means of approximately 124 m long pipe jackings due to the additional avoidance of compensation and forest areas; the microtunnelling method without casing pipe installation, but with direct pull-in of the product pipe is currently planned for this; the Ludwig-Erhart-Str. and BAB A39 must be crossed by means of a 60 m long bore each due to their respective four-lane expansion; the combined crossing of the state road L473 and a water pipeline also achieves a length of 60 m; on the premises of Salzgitter Flachstahl AG, old pollutants in the soil are to be expected. Separate storage, sampling, and disposal of the excavation, including the delivery of replacement material for backfilling, is to be expected. Planned execution dates: - Award of contract: approx. early May 2027 - Planned date for receipt of planning approval decision: 23.04.2027 - Kick-off AN with the AG: approx. mid/end of May 2027 - Start of (construction) preparatory measures, incl. onboarding/mobilisation: approx. end of May 2027 - Start of main construction phase: approx. early Aug. 2027 - Completion cold commissioning (partial acceptance; penalised target date): 25.06.2028 - Hot commissioning by the AG / SV acceptance: approx. early Q3/2028 - Completion of recultivation work and final acceptance after handover of the complete final documentation by the GC: by the end of Q3/2029 at the latest.
