Description

The AG is a regional network operator for electricity, heat, water and internet services. Due to current grid planning, the AG expects an additional capacity requirement from 2029 in Itzehoe-Nord of approximately 50 MW (n-1), which can be provided via a grid connection in UW Itzehoe-West by SH-Netz. To further distribute this capacity, in addition to the construction of a 110 kV underground cable route (which is not the subject of this procedure), the AG must also build a new substation ("UW Itzehoe-Nordwest"). Furthermore, additional grid connection capacities will be needed at the industrial site in Lägerdorf as part of the decarbonisation of the cement plant by industry from 2029. The construction of the 110 kV underground cable connection is part of an overall measure to implement a CO2 value chain with the aim of putting one of the first climate-neutral cement plants in Europe into operation by 2030. The required capacities cannot be provided solely through the existing capacities at the substation in Lägerdorf ("UW Lägerdorf"), but can be through UW Itzehoe-West of up to an additional 134 MW (n-1) grid connection capacity. Therefore, the AG must create a new 110 kV underground cable route from UW Itzehoe-West via UW Itzehoe-Nordwest to UW Lägerdorf 110/20 for the power supply of the industrial site. The project will be implemented as a 110 kV underground cable under § 43h EnWG. The application for planning approval must be submitted by the end of 2026 at the latest.
