Germany – Engineering services – Sandentnahme Westerland III: Untersuchungen zum Schutzgut Trauerente

Investigations into the protected species Common Pochard according to the Scoping document of 19.03.2026. ◦ Inventory of the wintering population in the Schleswig-Holstein coastal sea. ◦ Digital aerial survey. ◦ At least five complete surveys within one winter, each at least one week apart; one of the surveys must take place in January/February. ◦ Transect design (size of the survey area 4,596 km²; transect length including connecting distance is 1,132 km). ◦ Evaluation of the image data regarding the occurrence of Common Pochards. Other objects and species recorded do not need to be identified further. When evaluating the image data, images/image parts with such poor quality that a reliable evaluation is not possible must be discarded, with the area of the discarded images not being counted as part of the evaluable area. In an audit procedure, at least 20% of the sequences and detected objects must be checked in each case. 2. Two (2) coordination meetings with the contracting authority in Husum; one of these after the first 3 flights. 3. Documentation of the result of the audit procedure in the form of a short report. 4. Preparation of a written report on the investigation results. 5. One-time revision of the report. 6. Participation in the clarification meeting.
