Germany – Construction work – Teil-GU Wunstorf TGA

The KRH Psychiatrie Wunstorf, consisting of adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry, has identified a need for structural renovation and expansion measures across the entire site. For the adult psychiatry department, a target planning exercise in 2019 revealed a need for a new ward building with 6 wards. A construction site in the north of the site, currently used as a staff car park and the social centre, was chosen for the project. These uses will be relocated. An application for funding under § 9.1 KHG has been submitted and approved for the project. The new construction consists of:

- the new construction of a ward building for the adult psychiatry department (H2) with six wards of 19 beds each, plus 2 contingency beds and 4 day clinic places,

- the replacement new construction of the social centre (H1) with a cafeteria and multi-purpose hall,

- the decentralised compensation for the loss of the staff car park, currently with 47 parking spaces, in three different car parks on the site,

- as well as the restructuring of the adjacent open spaces and traffic areas.
