The City of Gütersloh intends to build a new fire station for the Gütersloh fire brigade at the existing location at Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 10, 33330 Gütersloh. The reason for the project is the considerable functional, technical, organisational and structural deficiencies of the existing fire station. The project has been decided by the responsible political bodies. The aim of the project is to create a functional, economical, sustainable and future-proof fire station that will permanently meet the requirements of a modern fire station. The planning must take into account the requirements of the operational service, occupational safety, functional operational organisation and a high-performance and resilient fire service. The project has a particular complexity due to its inner-city location and the planned implementation during ongoing fire service operations. Full operational readiness of the fire service must be ensured throughout the entire planning and construction phase. The contractor must develop and continuously update a reliable construction phase, interim and operational concept for this purpose. The new fire station is to be planned as a multifunctional site. In addition to the requirements of the operational service, training, educational and administrative functions as well as uses by the youth fire brigade and the symphonic wind orchestra must also be taken into account. Completion and commissioning of the new fire station is scheduled for 2031, according to the current project status.
