Ireland – Construction work – 9843 Design and Build Capacity Enhancement Works at Connolly Station

This is a call for competition by Iarnród Éireann for the procurement of an experienced Design and Build Contractor to complete the design and deliver capacity enhancement and transformation works at Connolly Station. The project will create a new entrance from Preston Street and a passenger concourse within the historic Victorian undercroft, together with new lifts, escalators and staircases providing improved access to Platforms 5, 6 and 7. The works will also include additional emergency escape routes, public-realm improvements, retail, operational and back-of-house spaces, heritage refurbishment, structural alterations and the installation or modification of station and railway systems. The successful Contractor will be required to review and develop the reference design through detailed design to Approved for Construction status and subsequently construct, test and commission the works. The Contractor will also be responsible for providing complete as-built and handover information. The project will be delivered within a constrained, live operational railway environment. The Contractor will be required to manage passenger circulation, railway access, construction phasing, safety assurance, stakeholder engagement, heritage requirements and interfaces with other DART+ contracts. The appointed Contractor will undertake the role of Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage. The form of contract is currently anticipated to be the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract, Option C, target contract with activity schedule. This procurement is a reissue of an earlier competition published in May 2025 under procedure identifier e342e2b9-7827-4a53-81b6-5178881e0fa0 and eTenders reference ID 5643930, which was subsequently discontinued without the award of a contract.
