Rhätische Bahn AGSwitzerlandPublished on Jun 21, 2026
42 days left

Description

The migration of infrastructure and rolling stock to driver-controlled signalling is being undertaken on the RhB network. The section Susch – Zernez has been selected as the first route, which will also serve as a pilot project. This tender will lead to a system decision on which the network-wide implementation of driver-controlled signalling will be based. From the December 2031 timetable change, a train interval of two minutes will be required on the Sagliains – Zernez section. This necessitates the division of the long section into several block sections. At the same time as the necessary expansion of the safety systems, a pilot project for the migration from external signals to driver-controlled signalling on the RhB network will be implemented.
