The operation concerns the construction of a new departmental archives building in Colmar. The existing building, currently located at Cité Administrative in Colmar, where historical archives produced in the Haut-Rhin territory are collected, preserved and communicated, presents significant malfunctions such as: - saturation of document storage spaces no longer allowing the integration of additional archives; - instability of document storage climatic conditions; - non-compliance with fire safety regulations: no fire stability of the structures of the stores; - non-compliance with accessibility for people with disabilities; - general ageing of buildings and technical facilities. The new departmental archives building will be located on the vacant plot to the north of the Departmental Council Building, Avenue d’Alsace in Colmar. This full-fledged cultural facility, serving the Alsatian territory, will meet the need to double the current storage capacity, namely 60 km. The design of the project must also meet the most ambitious challenges of frugality and energy performance (storage areas without air conditioning). The proposed overall project must be perfectly integrated into its environment. Site area: 15 743 m². New useful built areas: 7 990 m². Useful areas for interior renovation of the Departmental Council Building: 82 m².
