The KRB leases commercial properties on a long-term basis and sublets them – predominantly under subsidised conditions – as workspaces to artists. The aim is to provide affordable and needs-based workspaces for the independent art and cultural scene. For organisational and operational support, the KRB works with external service providers in the field of property management. These service providers manage the main lease contracts and the standardised sublease contracts and are responsible for the ongoing management of the properties. Currently, the programme comprises around 640 rented spaces with a total area of approximately 54,000 m², with further areas in planning. The services of the service providers include, among other things, contract management, communication with landlords and tenants, the organisation of maintenance measures, rent accounting and regular reporting. In addition, special services can be called upon.
