Description

The subject of the present tender is project management services for the construction project Baggage Sorting Hall Extension GSH-E at Terminal 2 Satellite. The existing baggage handling system (BHS) in Terminal 2 of Munich Airport exhibits bottlenecks during peak traffic times. To remedy this bottleneck, the expansion of the baggage sorting system is required. The aim is to increase the capacities of the Terminal 2 system by creating a maximum of 6-8 additional retrieval circuits by 2029. The implementation is to take place on a paved, approved construction site outside the existing building structure. In the final state, the expansion of the baggage handling system (BHS) will be finally realized by the "T-Stiel" project. The subject of the procurement is the creation of an interim solution and its dismantling until the completion of the "T-Stiel". (Terminal Extension SAT) As part of a variant study, it was decided that, adjacent to the planned construction of the "T-Stiel" (start of construction 2030), an independent hall (Baggage Sorting Hall Extension GSH-E) with a connection to the existing T2 system will be erected as an interim solution. The construction of the new interim baggage sorting hall GSH-E will take place outside the existing building structure, on the eastern apron level SAT (Level 3) and thus on a paved, approved and developed area. The new interim hall will be connected to the existing baggage handling system tunnel via a new immersion structure to be created. Via this immersion structure, the existing baggage handling system of the Terminal 2 system will be extended into the interim hall. The BHS consists of 2 levels. Level 3 with retrieval circuits. Entries and exits to the operating road. Level Z3 for baggage storage, X-ray machines and empty container management. Level Z3 extends over the entire hall and consists of an autonomous, elevated steel structure with a full-surface grid floor. As part of the variant study in the performance phase 2, the number of retrieval circuits may change, so that the hall may be designed for 3 instead of 6-8 circuits. The hall will be constructed as a reusable steel hall. Ancillary rooms, such as restrooms or sanitary facilities, technical control centers, are not planned within the hall. These functions are envisaged as container solutions outside the hall. However, this planning requires the determination of the contours of the immersion structure, which in turn is the responsibility of the general planner. The implementation of the measure takes place directly adjacent to the ongoing flight operations to the adjacent apron areas. Therefore, construction methods, construction phases and possibly areas required beyond the construction site boundaries must be planned in such a way that the apron-side parking positions and taxiways, which are in full operation, are not impaired. The provision of planning services for the HOAI performance phases 1-4, by a general planner, is currently being tendered by the contracting authority.
