Germany – Public transport services by railways – Mitteldeutsches S-Bahnnetz II

The subject is the provision of scheduled transport services in regional rail passenger transport with a volume of approximately 7.3 million train-kilometres per annum on the following lines:

• S 2: Dessau – Bitterfeld – Leipzig – Markkleeberg-Gaschwitz,

• S 7: Eilenburg – Delitzsch – Halle (Saale) – Lu. Eisleben – Sangerhausen,

• S 8: Dessau/Lu. Wittenberg – Bitterfeld – Halle (Saale),

• RE 13: Magdeburg – Dessau – Leipzig,

• RB 51: Dessau – Lu. Wittenberg – Falkenberg (Elster),

• RE 14: Dessau – Lu. Wittenberg

Additionally, the following optional operational services are provided for in the subject contract:

• the provision of transport services on the line RB 52 Magdeburg Hbf – Dessau Hbf with a volume of approximately 0.7 million train-kilometres per annum (Option 1),

• the provision of transport services on the line S 22 Leipzig Hbf – Delitzsch CTC with a volume of approximately 0.19 million train-kilometres per annum (Option 2),

• the provision of transport services to increase the frequency of line RB 51 to an hourly service on the section Lutherstadt Wittenberg – Falkenberg with a volume of approximately 0.27 million train-kilometres per annum (Option 3)

• the provision of the subject transport services in the timetable year 2046 (Option 4).

The decision to award these optional operational services will be made by the respective contracting authority Land Sachsen-Anhalt for Option 1, Zweckverband für den Nahverkehrsraum Leipzig for Option 2, and Land Sachsen-Anhalt and Land Brandenburg for Option 3, with the award of the contract. The optional operational services will commence no earlier than the timetable change in December 2031 (14.12.2031) and no later than the timetable change in December 2032 (12.12.2032). Information on the date of commencement of the optional operational services will be provided with the award of the contract.
