Description

In the year of the MHG's foundation, 1909, the museum acquired the interiors of two rooms from the Villa Rücker, which was demolished the same year. The decoration elements of the two rooms of this villa were originally intended to be placed on the second floor of the museum, which was under construction and opened in 1922. Therefore, the layout of the rooms and the window front of the villa were already replicated in the museum building. However, due to financial and organisational reasons, this installation never took place, and the wall panels, stucco elements, and wallpapers remained in storage until 2009, when they were first inspected, examined, and subjected to securing measures. Now, they are to find their final place at the originally intended location. For this, complex conservation and restoration measures are necessary.
