Germany – Computer storage units – Beschaffung eines zentralen Backup-Systems

The subject of this tender is the procurement of a central, high-performance, scalable, and highly available backup infrastructure for the Universitätsklinikum Magdeburg. The aim of the tender is to provide a future-proof and demand-driven expandable central backup solution that enables reliable backup and fast and reliable restoration of the business-critical and medically relevant data and IT systems generated at the Universitätsklinikum Magdeburg. The solution to be procured must meet the requirements for secure, highly available, and permanently available operation in a KRITIS-relevant environment and thus make a significant contribution to the operational safety, fail-safety and resilience of the IT infrastructure of the Universitätsklinikum Magdeburg. The overall solution to be procured shall consist of four coordinated system components: • a high-performance all-flash backup appliance for processing large amounts of data and a high number of parallel backup and restore processes, • a highly available backup storage system as the primary backup target with integrated deduplication function, • a powerful enterprise rack server as Veeam Backup Server and • two appropriately sized enterprise rack servers as Veeam Backup Proxy. The backup infrastructure is to be designed in such a way that it meets the existing and foreseeable future requirements of the Universitätsklinikum Magdeburg. The scope of services includes, in addition to the delivery of the necessary hardware and software including all components and licenses required for proper operation, the professional installation, configuration and integration of the overall solution into the existing IT infrastructure of the Universitätsklinikum Magdeburg. Furthermore, the scope of services includes the commissioning of the overall solution and the performance of the necessary functional, performance and acceptance tests. The contractor must provide a fully functional and operational overall solution that meets the requirements set out in the performance description and the performance schedule. All services must be provided in accordance with the legal, regulatory and technical requirements, as well as the relevant standards and norms, applicable at the time of service provision.
