Germany – Contractor's all-risk insurance services – Projektversicherung zur Fehmarnbeltquerung (FBQ) - PFA Lübeck

DB InfraGO AG plans to upgrade and electrify the approximately 88-kilometre railway line between the Hanseatic City of Lübeck and Puttgarden on the island of Fehmarn to double track. The southernmost section of the rail link to the Fixed Fehmarnbelt Crossing (FBQ) to be insured here covers the Hanseatic City of Lübeck and extends over approximately eight kilometres. It begins at the Trave Canal railway overbridge, runs along Lübeck Main Station and ends in the Teerhofinsel area at the border with Bad Schwartau. The investment sum for this project is estimated at approximately EUR 631 million. Of this, approximately EUR 56 million has already been settled via an existing contract. The newly tendered insurance contract will replace the existing contract. A construction period until 31.12.2032 is currently planned. The insurance contract will begin after the completion of the tendering process with the date of the award following a currently existing preliminary cover. (Type L) In the liability insurance, the cover amount per claim is EUR 25,000,000 flat rate for personal, property and financial losses, including the benefits from the environmental liability insurance. In the planning liability insurance, a separate cover amount per claim of EUR 10,000,000 flat rate for property and financial losses is available. The aforementioned amounts are maximised threefold. The Extendend Maintenance in the construction and assembly insurance part amounts to 42 months. The subsequent liability in the liability insurance is 10 years, in the environmental liability and environmental damage insurance 5 years. The general deductible is at least EUR 25,000. The deductible does not apply to personal injuries. The extended planning cover is included in the planning liability insurance. As part of the extended planning cover, the deductible is EUR 100,000.
