Description
Redesignation/Creation of Security Control Point in the Departure Area of Munich Airport Terminal 1 E05, Public Area Component No. 111.04 Location of the construction project: Munich Airport Terminal 1 C Siko Nord, Level 05 Axes W13-W17 / S06-S10 Construction Measures: As part of the planned measure, a redesignation is to take place at the existing area of Emirates (gross floor area of approx. 1,120 sqm). The redesignation serves to create a new security control point (Siko C Nord) in the departure area of Munich Airport in the public area of Terminal 1, Level 05, Component No. 111.04. Access is via the existing transfer corridor, with connection to the existing technical infrastructure (power, ventilation, IT, water). In the planned measure, the existing Emirates Lounge facilities will be dismantled to the shell state. This will be followed by the conversion to a security control point with new CT scanners. This measure serves to further increase the capacity of security checks and to adapt to the current security standard. In addition to the actual control lanes, the existing ancillary rooms (i.e. office, stay, smoker) will also be renovated and adapted. All load-bearing and stiffening components, as well as the outer walls, will not be changed. The requirements for the components, as well as the escape routes, will be redefined in a fire protection statement. Due to the retention of the static system, in coordination between the FMG with the Landratsamt Erding (LRA ED), a building permit is considered sufficient. In total, the three nearest necessary stairs (in necessary stairwells) remain available for the area. Security and regulatory requirements: The implementation is carried out in accordance with the Aviation Security Act (LuftSiG) and EU Regulation (EU) 2015/1998. Coordination takes place with the Aviation Security Authority, Federal Police and Munich Airport GmbH. Environmental and noise aspects: The construction work is carried out with minimal dust and noise development. Waste is properly separated and disposed of. The work is carried out exclusively during approved terminal working hours. Description of use: Due to changed operational requirements and the adaptation of passenger flows at Munich Airport, the former Emirates Lounge is to be put to a new use. The aim of the measure is the redesignation and structural adaptation of the premises to a security control unit according to the valid requirements of the aviation security authorities (LuftSiG, EU regulations and specifications of the airport operator FMG). Therefore, the area is to be used in the future as a security control point for passengers and hand luggage. The unit includes control lines, waiting areas, staff rooms, rest rooms and technical zones. Accessibility The construction site will be redesignated to a public area. This has already been done by the FMG. Access to and from the construction site is via construction site entrances/exits at the Nordring (Erdinger Allee). Access to the construction site is possible from 06:00, the closure of the construction site gates by the FMG security service takes place from 18:00. Construction description Electric: The electrical services include the conversion, adaptation and new construction of existing and new trench systems as well as the installation of a continuous underfloor system including all associated electrical installation work. Most of the work is carried out in the public area of the terminal, a smaller part in security-relevant zones. Due to ongoing operations, individual work steps have to be carried out at night and on weekends; activities in safety-critical areas may only begin after clearance by the construction management. On level E06 (exterior/flat roof), a new trench system will be installed and the existing lightning protection system will be adapted. In the affected sub-distributions, the grid forms Normal Grid (NN), General Standby Supply (AEV) and Emergency Lighting (SBEL) are used. The conversion area comprises four distribution locations, in which a total of nine new sub-distributions are to be erected. In addition, an underfloor system with floor tanks and flexible piping is to be installed and new cable support systems are to be mounted and existing trenches are to be professionally adapted. The scope of services also includes the adaptation of the lightning protection on level E06 and the installation of new lighting with corresponding control. The contractor provides all passive infrastructure, including cable support systems, riser zones, trench paths and underfloor systems. These are to be manufactured with an expansion allowance of at least 30% to enable future extensions without construction work. All interfaces are to be prepared technically flawless, standard-compliant and fully functional. The contractor coordinates the necessary pre-work, the joint commissioning and the acceptance with all trades involved and takes into account the interface requirements in the schedule. Since certain operational systems such as ELA systems, IT technology, fire alarm systems and control lanes are implemented by specialized installers on behalf of the FMG, their technical and construction requirements must be taken into account. In particular, for the IT cabling, all required trench paths and laying systems must be made operationally ready. The active network technology (switches, routers, end devices) is exclusively provided and put into operation by the FMG; the interfaces must therefore be designed so that seamless integration without follow-up work is possible. Implementation period: estimated 05.10.2026 to 01.02.2027 Site set-up / Pre-measures estimated 01.02.2027 to 20.08.2027
