Descripción

In spring 2023 the Government and QA launched a joint strategy for digital competence and infrastructure in nurseries and schools (2023-2030)[1] (hereafter; The strategy). The strategy points out that there is a need for more research and knowledge on how digital solutions are used in kindergarten and school and what educational value they provide. There is also a need for knowledge on employees ́ competence and sharing of digital practices. One of the initiatives in the strategy is "to establish a target orthopaedal research programme on the subject of and on digitalisation and digital competence in the sector". The strategy conveys a desire for the research programme to provide better and more systematic knowledge of good, reliable and appropriate use of digital systems and media in schools. One of the initiatives in the strategy is to develop research based knowledge on appropriate development of teaching and assessment practices in light of the changes that generative artificial intelligence (GenKI) brings about the education system. The assignment of establishing the research programme was given to Udir from KD in spring 2024. The research programme for digitalisation and digital competence in nurseries and schools was initiated autumn 2024.
