Germany – Engineering design services for mechanical and electrical installations for buildings – NW-004-25_Büchenbach West in Erlangen-Büchenbach

The Erlanger Stadtwerke AG (ESTW) intend to build a new, future-proof district heating network in the western part of the city, in the Büchenbach district. The new district heating network for the "Büchenbach West" supply area will both decarbonise the existing five district heating plants and connect further potential supply areas to a common heating plant. The heating plant is to be supplied exclusively with renewable energies as a heat source. Due to the chosen location of the future heating plant in the immediate vicinity of agriculturally used areas, the use of near-surface geothermal energy in the form of agrothermal energy is favoured. This, in combination with other heat sources, will ensure the supply security of the district heating network. The aim is to achieve a long-term, climate-friendly and economical heat supply based exclusively on renewable energies.
