The Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency (the Agency) is initiating a strategic transition to ensure a future-proof and resilient national emergency communication capability. The Agency is developing a new communication system based on commercial mobile broadband technologies and 3GPP-defined Mission Critical Services (MCX). This upcoming solution, replacing the current TETRA-based Rakel system, will be referred to as the Swedish Emergency Network (SWEN).
