The DLR will build a research vehicle in the U-Shift V IMoGer project based on the U-Shift IV vehicle concept. For the operation of the U-Shift on designated routes, automated driving under real traffic conditions on public roads is planned. The U-Shift is to travel along a predefined path or corridor in combination with various capsules, vary its speed independently depending on the situation, and avoid or stop independently in the event of possible collisions. During operation, technical supervision is planned, which can deactivate the U-Shift's autonomous driving function and release driving maneuvers. As part of this contract, a parcel station (locker box) is to be tested for the U-Shift V, and a corresponding capsule is to be manufactured and equipped with a common parcel station. To this end, the design of an existing goods capsule is to be adopted and adapted, manufactured, assembled and delivered.
