Description

The CSR Award of the Federal Government is a key component of the Federal Government's CSR strategy and highlights good examples of socially responsible corporate behavior. It has been awarded five times since 2013, each time under the patronage of the incumbent Federal Ministers for Labour and Social Affairs. The award is scheduled to be presented again in early 2028. The CSR Award is an established format with high renown, widely known among companies and stakeholders. Its unique selling points are the scientifically accompanied selection of the winners, as well as the decision-making process by a multi-stakeholder jury chaired by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The CSR Award honors companies for sustainable business practices, also along the supply chain. Making such role models visible provides important guidance for other companies. The winners of recent years have shown that responsible corporate management is not a cost factor, but that economic and social added value can be combined. Exemplary projects and measures in companies are sought in various thematic areas, demonstrating how responsible and sustainable corporate management can succeed. The examples are intended to encourage imitation. As in the last competition round, the CSR Award 2028 is not intended to honor the entire sustainability performance of companies, but measures and projects in several predefined categories. The categories will be revised until the publication of the competition announcement. All important milestones of the CSR Award will be scientifically accompanied by a service provider. In addition to the final touches in category development, the focus of the work is mainly on the analysis of the applications, the qualitative validation of the submitted measures, and the preparation of the results for the award jury. We are looking for a service provider who will accompany the competition in a methodologically sound manner. The following tasks are expected: · Further development of the criteria for the award categories, development of the questions for the application form, creation of an evaluation matrix · Screening of the received applications using the evaluation matrix · Creation of a long list in coordination with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs · Preparation of the results for the jury as well as on-site presentation of the evaluation at the jury meeting · Creation of a short list based on the jury decision · Operationalization of the qualitative examination of the measures on the short list, in each case in coordination with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (several coordination loops): Identification of relevant stakeholders (e.g. civil society, residents, science), development of interview guidelines for (1) the companies on the short list as well as (2) the relevant stakeholders, identification of possible sources for the environmental analysis, development of an evaluation concept · Conducting 15 guided interviews on site at all companies on the short list (a total of approximately 15 interviews), including appointment scheduling and coordination · Conducting at least 2 guided stakeholder interviews (by telephone/online) for all companies on the short list (a total of approximately 30-35 interviews) · Environmental research at the nominated companies (e.g. press reports) · Preparation of the analysis results for the jury and on-site presentation at a jury meeting · Creation of fact sheets for all measures on the short list taking into account the jury's suggestions.
