Germany – Firefighting equipment installation work – Schaumlöschanlage (VE067), CVK, DHZC

The Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin intends to construct a forward-looking new building for the Deutsche Herzzentrum der Charité (DHZC) in the south-western area of the Campus Virchow-Klinikum (CVK). The planned new building will also house the Zentrale Sterilgutversorgung (ZSVA) and the Zentrale Notaufnahme (ZNA), and a helipad will be constructed on the roof of the building. The total usable area for the new DHZC building is approximately 29,800 m², with a gross floor area of approximately 75,600 m² and a gross volume of approximately 355,000 m³. It is planned to construct the new building as a high-rise with 16 storeys above ground and 2 basement levels. The building is to be certified for sustainability according to the system of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) at the "Gold" level. According to the VdS-2108 guideline, a foam extinguishing system is planned for firefighting on the helipad on the 17th floor. The area of the helipad is approximately 893 m². The technical centre of the foam extinguishing system is located on the 16th floor below the helipad. The extinguishing water and foam containers are housed here. The technical centre of the foam extinguishing system is to be included in the sprinkler protection, for example, of the planned HDWN system. Firefighting is carried out via remotely controllable monitors. Activation is manual. In the event of a fire, an alarm is triggered via the BMZ.
