Germany – Architectural, engineering and planning services – 26-021 Neubau Kindergarten Nadelhof Stegen
Description
The municipality of Stegen plans to build a new three-group childcare facility on plot no. 92/23 in the district of Oberbirken. The aim of the project is to cover the local care needs in the long term and in a needs-oriented manner. The new building will be single-storey and constructed using sustainable timber construction methods. The planning is based on the guidelines of the KVJS guide „Kindertageseinrichtungen“ (Status Baden-Württemberg 2020) and provides for a flexible room structure that supports both U3, Ü3 and mixed-age groups. The building and area characteristics were determined according to DIN 277. Soil investigations have revealed locally increased contaminant levels in the topsoil, which may require separate treatment or disposal. The deeper soil layers are basically reusable; further sampling will be carried out during the planning process. The building blends in with the existing topography and settlement structure. Access is level or barrier-free via the planned footpath. The outdoor area is modelled and connected to the group rooms. The construction combines timber framing and solid timber construction. The building envelope is energy-efficient according to the standard of a KfW Efficiency House 40. Provided are an insulated and green flat roof construction, timber facades as well as high-quality window and door elements with triple glazing. The interior finishing follows a child-friendly, natural material concept with robust, easy-to-care-for surfaces and acoustically effective ceilings. The building services include modern systems for sanitary, heating, ventilation, electrical and building automation. Heat generation is provided by an air-water heat pump system, supplemented by a PV system with battery storage. A central ventilation unit with heat recovery ensures hygienic air quality. The outdoor facilities offer nature-like play areas, clear zoning for U3/Ü3 and paved paths. The fire protection requirements are described by a separate fire protection concept; the building is designed as a single-storey structure without additional fire compartments. The planning services for the new childcare facility have been fully provided and coordinated across disciplines up to the completion of phase 3 of the services. All required disciplines – including architecture, structural design, technical building equipment and fire protection – have been integrated into the design planning, so that a solid basis for the further phases of the services is available. As part of the project "Neubau Kindergarten Nadelhof in Stegen" the award of general planning services for the planning disciplines of building design, technical building equipment, structural design and landscape design is planned.
