Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Stadt Göttingen - Deutsches Theater Göttingen - Fassadenplanung
Description
The City of Göttingen plans the comprehensive renovation of the Deutsches Theater (Theaterplatz 11, 37073 Göttingen) for the permanent and future-proof operation of the building, as an important component of the municipal and regional cultural landscape, for the preservation of a listed building as an important cultural heritage, taking into account energy requirements. In the first package of the first renovation section, the securing of the existing outer shell will take place and will include the renovation of the facade incl. windows and roof. The Deutsches Theater Göttingen consists of the listed old building by Gerhard Schnitger (1890 to 1927), the listed glass foyer by Brandi (1984) and two further extensions by Brandi (1984), which are not listed. In addition, the adjacent workshop building belongs to the building stock, which is also not listed and is to be demolished for a new building in a later renovation section. The building is located in the core area of the city center in the city district Zentrum/Nordstadt, east of the city wall. It was opened on 30 September 1890 as the so-called Theater am Wall. The Deutsches Theater can accommodate the following number of visitors as a meeting place depending on the venue: DT-1 (Main Auditorium): Historic hall in Neo-Renaissance style with stalls and three tiers for a total of 496 spectators. DT-2: Multifunctional "Black Box" in the modern extension for up to 100 spectators. DT-X (Basement): Off-stage with catering for smaller pieces and comedy. After being renamed the Deutsches Theater, it is used as a pure spoken theatre. The programme ranges from classical dramas to contemporary plays and premieres to talk formats, readings and guest performances. It is supplemented by offers from theatre education. With the implementation of the overall awarding of the planning services, the City of Göttingen expects a planning and economically coordinated offer, which already at an early stage guarantees cost and time security as well as a content-coordinated offer for the renovation of the outer facade incl. windows and the roof renovation in the existing building. The participants are requested to plan and optimise the period of performance in such a way that completion of the renovation can be achieved by the end of 2028. For the project, funding has been applied for at the BKM. The funding commitment from the BKM amounts to up to 4.5 million euros. To prepare for the renovation measure, the City of Göttingen has already awarded several expert services for necessary preliminary investigations. The processing of these services will be carried out in parallel with the tendering procedure for the general planning services and will be continued until its completion. Total construction costs (cost groups 300+400) of approx. gross 6.8 million EUR are anticipated.
