The "office building" designed by Hans van Heeswijk on the outskirts of Delft was newly delivered to Rijkswaterstaat in 2003. The 8-storey building consists of two L-shaped wings that converge in the middle in a central atrium. At present, the building is fully occupied by Rijkswaterstaat Central Information Services (RWS CIV). The building is considered a valuable office by the current user due to its central location, proximity to local partners (including TU Delft) and the environment is a place of employment for many workers. Despite the modern appearance of the building, there are several issues that prevent the workplace and supported areas from being used optimally. This is because the building is still based on old standards, and there are several bottlenecks that hinder use. The building will, in line with the Masterplan Delft, be transformed into a fully-fledged and future-oriented government office. Area: approximately 14,800 m2 bvo.
