Germany – Demolition, site preparation and clearance work – Bauvorhaben Brüderstraße 17/18, Markt 1 in Angermünde - Los 03 Abbrucharbeiten

The city of Angermünde intends to convert the listed ensemble at Brüderstraße 17/18 and the adjacent property at Markt 1 into a municipal administrative and service building with a city library, city archive, citizens' hall, and municipal offices, and to structurally reorganize it. The aim is to create a functionally coherent building complex with shared access, barrier-free accessibility, and jointly used ancillary areas. The building ensemble consists of several building sections. Building parts 1-3 (Brüderstraße 18) have a largely uniform street facade and a continuous roof. The corner building (Building part 1) was rebuilt as a restaurant, commercial, and residential building after a fire in 1855, and was extended to include a partial overbuilding of the courtyard (Building part 2) and a new hall (Building part 3). The middle building (Building part 2) will be gutted except for its street facade and rebuilt as a new, barrier-free main entrance. The adjacent existing building at Brüderstraße 17 (Building part 4) is a two-story solid construction building. Due to its poor condition and damage from an attempted renovation, this building will be completely demolished and replaced by a three-story administrative new building, which will be supplemented by a single-story extension (Building part 4). Several subordinate ancillary buildings (including a garage, workshop, shed) are located on the Markt 1 property and will be demolished before the start of construction. The outdoor area will be divided into two courtyard areas in the future by a new, single-story ancillary building (Building part 5). As part of the renovation and new construction, extensive structural measures are planned. All conversion and renovation work will be carried out in coordination with the monument authorities. The aim is to preserve the listed building substance as far as possible.
