Belgium – Agricultural, forestry, horticultural, aquacultural and apicultural services – Natuurinrichting Opstalvalleigebied – Fase 2A

The Opstalvalleigebied is located in the Berendrechtse Polder and is partly in the municipality of Antwerp (district Berendrecht-Zandvliet-Lillo) and partly in the municipality of Stabroek. The area mainly consists of grassland and farmland. Several watercourses cross the area. The project involves the creation of a nature compensation area of approximately 67 ha. These works mainly consist of changes to the relief (earthmoving with removal), with a view to creating nature for water retention and reed development. The necessary planting of reeds and trees, felling of trees, construction of a dike, placement of weirs and construction of a service road are also part of the contract. For the execution of the earthworks, the contractor must have the appropriate certification, as the volume of earth to be moved is at least approximately 170,000 m³.
