The municipality of Homburg plans the tourist redevelopment of the Schlossberg. The overall ensemble "Homburger Schlossberg" consists not only of the generous natural landscape offer and the far-reaching network of paths for leisure, sports and recreation, but also of its sights, the imposing ruins of the former Vauban-style fortress from the 17th century and the Schlossberghöhlen with impressive domes and tunnels. They are considered "the largest Buntsandstein caves in Europe". Both facilities are protected under monument preservation laws, and the Schlossberghöhlen are additionally under mining supervision. The overall project is divided into two sub-projects. Sub-project 1 (TP 1) includes the establishment of a visitor centre as the main point of contact for visitors to the Schlossberg, as well as the expansion of the visitor caves with barrier-free access from the Homburg Altstadt; sub-project 2 (TP 2) includes the redevelopment of the Schlossberg fortress with renovation, securing, expansion, partial reconstruction, visualisation and tourist upgrading. The subject of this tender is, within the framework of TP 1, the building/visitor centre at Karlsbergstraße 37 with outdoor area, with the services - object planning Karlsbergstr. 37 - outdoor area (courtyard) at the building - development.
