Slovakia – Construction work – R2 Šaca – Košické Oľšany, I. úsek

The purpose of the proposed construction is to relieve the currently congested transport network in the area around the city of Košice and within the city itself from transit traffic and, at the same time, to create a south-eastern bypass of the city with several new connections to the existing transport system to redistribute source and destination traffic, thereby relieving the currently congested city entrances. This will increase the fluidity, speed and safety of traffic and lead to a significant improvement in transport and operational conditions for transit traffic. The subject of the contract is defined in detail in Annex 1 to Annex 5 of these SP.
