General Sewerage Plan Kaiserslautern – Hydrodynamic Sewer Network Calculation and Pollutant Load Calculation. The Kaiserslautern Sewerage Works (STE) intends to draw up a new General Sewerage Plan (GEP) for the catchment area of the Kaiserslautern Central Wastewater Treatment Plant. The subject of the advertised engineering services is the comprehensive hydraulic and emission-related analysis of the sewerage system, including the development of an integral rehabilitation concept based on a bidirectionally coupled hydrodynamic 1D/2D sewer network and pollutant load calculation. The catchment area of the Kaiserslautern Central Wastewater Treatment Plant covers an area of approximately 4,200 ha. The sewer network has a length of around 519 km and consists predominantly of combined sewers, supplemented by foul and surface water sewers. Drainage is predominantly by gravity, but is supplemented by numerous special structures, pumping stations, retention facilities and complex control structures. In addition, several external networks of neighbouring municipalities are connected to the sewerage system. The work is carried out for six hydraulically defined sub-areas, the results of which are subsequently combined in an overall model. The objective of the services is the complete, realistic representation of the existing sewerage system, the assessment of its hydraulic performance and the proof of emission-related requirements. Based on this, technically and economically justified rehabilitation strategies for the existing and forecast conditions are to be developed.
