Description

Erlangen Stadtwerke AG intends to commission the planning and construction of a fully automatic waste heat heat pump system, which is to be built south of the planned North Bavarian High-Performance Computing Centre (NHR) on Nikolaus-Fiebiger-Straße in Erlangen for continuous operation. The heat generated will be fed into the district heating network of Erlangen Stadtwerke. Three stages of waste heat expansion of the high-performance computing centre are planned: Stage 1: 2 MWth waste heat (2030) Stage 2: 5 MWth (2031) Stage 3: 10 MWth (2035) The heat pump system will be designed modularly, so that additional heat pumps can be retrofitted for the above expansion stages. The waste heat temperature depends on the computing technology used – at the time of ordering – and is expected to be in the range between 42°C and 50°C. The heat pump system must provide cooling to the data centre. The system is to be designed as fully automatic and highly available and is to be operated predominantly remotely from the heating plant site.
