Switzerland – Electricity distribution and control apparatus – Kaskade Barberine, Erhebliche Erneuerung, Los Frequenzumrichter Antriebsstrang PN und Netzkopplung

As part of the «Significant Renewal Cascade Barberine» project, SBB plans to renovate several power plant facilities. The Châtelard I power plant is located in the village of Le Châtelard in the municipality of Finhaut in the canton of Valais and was built between 1919 and 1923. In 1972, the power plant was expanded by the Châtelard II facility. The power plant primarily serves the railway power supply (16.7Hz) of Western Switzerland and the Simplon line. The «Cascade Barberine Significant Renewal» project aims to bring the power plant equipment of the two power plant facilities up to the current technical standard and thus ensure reliable turbine and pump operation with high availability for at least 40 years. The subject of the tender is the essential supplies and services for: - a 50Hz three-phase asynchronous motor, - a static frequency converter for grid coupling 50/16.7Hz including converter transformers - a frequency converter drive including converter transformer, each including all necessary associated systems.
