At the JVA Essen, various measures are currently taking place, which are divided into several construction phases. These include:

- Renovation of the detention cell communication system

- Renovation of the fire protection ducts

- Replacement of the windows

- Hazardous material remediation of the floor covering

- Renovation of the sanitary facilities (toilet, washbasin)

The planning of the detention cell communication system is the responsibility of an electrical planner. For this measure, coordination of the associated plastering, painting, and dust protection work as well as the final building cleaning is required. As part of the tender for the general planner, further measures are to be considered:

- Renovation of the kitchen

- Hazardous material remediation of the detention cell floors and corridors

- Hazardous material remediation for the installation of the detention cell communication system

A hazardous material register and remediation concept is available for the JVA Essen, which must be coordinated with the measures.
