The district of Nienburg/Weser operates a secondary school with several individual building sections on its own property in Uchte. The collective municipality of Uchte manages this on behalf of and for the account of the district. Historically, the buildings, which were formerly four independent schools, were combined into the secondary school in 2010: - Orientation stage (now Tract 1 and 2) - Secondary School (now Tract 3 and 4) - Intermediate School (now Tract 5 and 6) - Home Economics School (now Tract 7 - use only as needed)

The individual building sections are freestanding buildings on a slight slope, some of which are connected by a canopy. Tracts 1-5 were planned and built in the 1960s. Tract 6 is a structural hybrid of timber-framed construction and solid addition from the 1930s. Tract 7, today's "as-needed building," is located somewhat separately and was also built in the 1960s. The latter is not part of the planning and is to be used exclusively as an alternative location during the renovation phase. The school site is well integrated in the town of Uchte with its approximately 5,000 inhabitants (political collective municipality: 15,000 inhabitants). Federal roads B61 and B441 ensure hassle-free bus and car access. Today, approximately 400 students are taught by 40 teachers on the "Campus" Secondary School. Over time, various uses have taken place in the almost unchanged floor plans and left their marks. The district of Nienburg/Weser has defined the secondary school Uchte as a secured location in its southern district area, which makes long-term planning and thus modernization of the buildings possible. Corresponding budget funds have been planned and approved. In view of social change and the associated requirements for educational locations, all buildings with the partly naturally grown but not planned space uses do not meet today's requirements. Due to insufficient fire safety and the far too cramped teacher's room situation, Tract 1 was technically, organizationally and somewhat visually modernized between 2017 and 2019. Currently, optical and many (safety-)technical defects mean that the secondary school Uchte cannot fulfill the desired function and shape of a modern and lively school. The buildings show a partly considerable need for renovation. In addition to the technical topics, the space program decided by the district council must reduce the usable area of the school from approximately 6,000 m² to approximately 4,000 m² in the future. The coordinated space program is part of the planning contract and must be implemented. Various implementation variants must first be created and coordinated with the client. For example, it is conceivable that 2-3 tracts will be demolished and dismantled and a more compact new building will be created for this. The overall measure is to be carried out during ongoing operations by the year 2031.
